Trimsaran and Pen-Y-myndd are both on the B4308 between Llanelli and Kidwelly. Llanelli is just 6 miles away and Carmarthen is 13 miles. The population is just over 2,500, and over 70% are welsh speaking. (Census 2001)

These are typical villages with the normal local amenities, they also have their own Leisure Centre which serves the surrounding communities, the village library is also situated here with an onsite cafe.
Pen-Y-Myndd was once known as Trimsaran, which has a picnic area and some of the best views within Carmarthenshire over looking Trimsaran, Carmarthen Bay and Kidwelly.
Both villages are very near to Burry Port Harbour, Pembrey and the new Millennium Coastal Park.
Trimsaran has a very strong community involment with the sport of rugby. Rugby was first played in Trimsaran in 1910 but the first recorded captain was Bill Bailey in 1927.
Players who have graduated from Trimsaran onto represent Wales include Jonathan Davies MBE and many others have gone onto play for the Llanelli Scarlets.
