Strong turnout for fun day - Wednesday August 3 2011
Dozens of families turned out for the first Trimsaran village fun day, braving the rain to enjoy the event.
Held in place of the summer carnival, the fun day was organised to raise funds for the leisure centre and boasted a host of activities, from a climbing wall and fun fair to a duck- herding display and a performance by the school choir.
Youngsters Benjamin Davies and Catrin Davies were crowned lord and lady Trimsaran by fellow school pupils, who elected them for possessing "positive values".
Leisure centre manager Maggie McIntosh said: "The fun day went well even if the weather was a bit of a disaster. Everybody seemed to have a good time and we are hoping this will become an annual event to replace the carnival."
